HABITS OF GRACE – STEWARDSHIP: FAITHFUL WITH WHAT BELONGS TO ANOTHER(Matthew 25:14–30, ESV) 

Stewardship is not primarily about money. It is about worship. 

The big idea: God entrusts His resources to His servants, and faithful servants use what He gives for His glory until He returns.

TRUTH #1: THE MASTER OWNS EVERYTHING, AND WE ARE ENTRUSTED STEWARDS (MATTHEW 25:14–15)

Stewardship begins when we remember that everything we have belongs to God.

Remembering God’s ownership frees us from entitlement and comparison.

When we trust God as our owner and provider, generosity becomes an act of worship. 

TRUTH #2: THE MASTER EXPECTS FAITHFUL INVESTMENT, NOT FEARFUL PRESERVATION (MATTHEW 25:16–18, 24–27)

Faithfulness means putting God’s gifts to work, not simply holding on to them.

Fear can sound like wisdom while quietly keeping us from obeying God.

The way we steward God’s gifts reveals what we truly believe about His heart.

TRUTH #3: THE MASTER WILL RETURN, REWARD FAITHFULNESS, AND EXPOSE FRUITLESSNESS (MATTHEW 25:19–30)

Because the Master is returning, the way we use our lives today carries eternal significance.

The faithful servant’s greatest reward is sharing in the joy of the Master.

A life without spiritual fruit reveals a heart that has never truly trusted the Master.

CONCLUSION

Generosity is not how we purchase grace; generosity is what grace produces. 

Quietly answer two questions: What is the one thing I have been holding onto? And what is one step of faithful obedience I will take with it this week?
