What is Missions Emphasis?

Each year at Midway Church we have the opportunity to come together and serve our neighbors and the nations by putting our faith into action. Explore this year's mission projects, fundraisers, and outreach events as we GO with the gospel!

14^th Annual Dessert Auction & Chili Dinner
October 18

Bring a pot of chili to share and join us for an evening of fellowship, food, and LOTS of sweet treats! Whether you’re buying a single slice, taking home a whole dessert, or bidding in the live and silent auctions, there’s a way for everyone to participate in this annual missions fundraiser.

All proceeds will support this year’s mission projects as we seek to make an impact for the gospel among our neighbors and the nations.

Entry into the chili cookoff competition is optional, but we ask that every family bring chili to share as our main course for the evening.

Bakers, we have three ways you can donate your delicious desserts:

Live Auction - Sold to the highest bidder
Buy Whole - Sold whole for $50
Buy-A-Slice - Sold in single-servings for $1

Silent Auction

Makers, we'd love to feature your handmade good, service, or a quality item in our silent auction. Past donations include handmade cutting boards, artwork, quilts, YETI coolers, fishing equipment, vacation rentals, themed gift baskets, and more.

Serve in your Community

Join us at one (or all!) of the local fall festivals where Midway Church will have a booth. We’ll have a photo booth and prize wheel for kids, giving us an opportunity to connect with our community and build relationships. Sign up for a time slot to serve with us:

Midway Go: Halloween
October 31

Be a missionary in your neighborhood this Halloween! It’s one of the few nights each year when our neighbors come right to our doorstep, giving us a unique opportunity to be present, build relationships, and share the hope of the gospel.

This year, our goal is to see Midway represented in neighborhoods across our community through Life Groups or groups of friends gathering in front of their homes. Instead of simply handing out candy, let’s be a welcoming presence, get to know our neighbors, and be a light for gospel hope as families come by to trick-or-treat.

Here’s how it works:

Midway will provide:
- Hot dogs, water, candy
- A yard sign & flyers (to be distributed relationally if a conversation leads to an invitation. The primary goal is to build relationships that lead to gospel conversations.)
You provide:
- A house to host in a neighborhood that gets trick-or-treaters & a group to "hangout" outside
- A grill or other method to cook free hot dogs for your neighbors
- A fun element that encourages people to linger and have conversations (e.g. telescope for stargazing, quick games, photo booth)

If you would like to host a hangout, gather a group of friends and let us know so we can help resource you.

New Hope Initiative

East Africa & Nicaragua

New Hope Initiative brings positive change to some of the poorest communities in the world through nutritional, educational, economic, and spiritual assistance. They partner with local leaders to offer self-sustaining projects of hope that will change a community forever.

Denton Baptist Association

Denton, TX

Denton Baptist Association is a diverse network of churches with the mission to connect all peoples to the gospel. They partner with local churches to train church planters with the goal of saturating our region with gospel-centered churches.

Shepherd's Storehouse

Pilot Point, TX

The Shepherd’s Storehouse is a community of volunteers dedicated to providing food assistance to individuals and families in need without discrimination and without government funding. Since 1989, they have been committed to helping our neighbors in need and are a partner agency of the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

Sandy Baird
October 18

Sandy and his wife Karen lead New Hope Initiative and are Strategic Mission Partners of Midway Church. Based in Tanzania, the Baird's ministry reaches impoverished communities in East Africa and Nicaragua with the life changing hope of the gospel.
