Missions Emphasis Month 2022 letters.png

Missions Emphasis Month is a dedicated month where we prioritize the missionaries that we as a church support and focus our finances and prayers to. For October 2023 we will be placing special emphasis on our supporting strategic partners: Doug & Jana Rogers, Matt & Tabby Smith, and Kaylynn Ledbetter

Matthew & Tabby
to Germany

The Smiths work in Cologne through relationship and community building. Because of the Middle Eastern culture's emphasis on hospitality, their current ministry revolves around the table, featuring a weekly dinner with several people from Muslim backgrounds each week. Along with this weekly dinner, they are pursuing discovery Bible studies, community-building outings, and processing the Gospel one-on-one with their non-Christian friends.

Midway Church partners with the Rogers family to plant self-sustaining Indigenous churches throughout Latin America and the U.S. In 2013, Doug, Jana, and their three children (Josh, Jocelyn, and Benjamin) started Indigenous Church Planting to equip national pastors throughout Latin America to plant churches. Since the start of ICP, the Rogers family has seen dozens of churches planted, multiple training centers opened, and thousands of people give their hearts to Christ.

Kaylynn Ledbetter
to London

Kaylynn has been working with a church revitalization in South East London. This church is in a neighborhood called Welling and has gone through some major changes in the past few years. Before 2018, the church had closed its doors, and the few remaining members were meeting in a home down the street. They averaged eight people each Sunday and prayed for God to keep them from closing permanently. This church invited missionaries Tarl Reeves and Justin Rhoades to be their pastors and reopen the church building. 2 years after restarting the church, it has grown from 8 in attendance to nearly 100 every Sunday. During her nine-month internship, at this church, she was able to serve in 15 different areas of ministry, and she can’t wait to get back to serving at her church in London.

CARE

How can we get involved letters.png

"Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."

Matthew 9:37-38

There are currently more opportunities to spread the Gospel than ever before, therefore it is imperative that we see men and women answering God’s call to missions.

PROJECT 938 is an intentional call for concerted prayer, that men and women will hear and surrender to the call of God to take the Gospel to every region of the world. In Matthew 9:38, we are commanded to pray for more laborers to fulfill the Great Commission by sharing the Gospel everywhere and to everyone. In response to this command, our church is continuing PROJECT 938 to rally our members to set their alarms to 9:38 everyday and pray for more laborers.

"There are various ways that people, businesses, and organizations can get involved with church planting and Midway Church has been a great example of not only assisting our church plant as an organization but also engaging and encouraging its members to get involved as well."

-Eric Patrick

"Giving to missions is a total blessing to us knowing we are playing a part in spreading the Gospel throughout various parts of the world. Hearing stories of all that God is doing through His faithful missionaries who answered the call to “go” and spread the Gospel warms our heart knowing that we are playing a supporting role in that Kingdom endeavor and that we are being faithful with what God has blessed us with. We feel this obedient act of giving is not only our Christian duty, but it serves to strengthen the bond of a church family, knowing that our pooled resources are being used to make disciples throughout the world. It is truly a blessing that comes full circle."

"Our partnership with Midway has been and continues to be, a great joy in our lives. We have felt connected to your church for so many years because of faithful support, good communication, and personal visits from pastor John and support teams. On top of that, the incredible financial support has been an enormous boost to our ministry here in Tanzania. To date, 22 churches have been planted, a Christian primary school established for the past 15 years, a medical clinic for our community for the past 13 years, mobile outreach clinics to the villages, and now...a Bible College facility. Truly, we couldn't do what we do if you didn't do what you do. Thank you, Midway!"

GO

Reach the Neighbors and Nations!

We are asking for everyone to take their giving for missions to the next level of faith not just by giving for the month of October but all year! Faith Promise Giving is giving financially to world missions. We give generously, joyfully, and sacrificially because Christ first gave Himself for us. "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich." (2Corinthians 8:9). His grace enables us to give our hearts back to Him as obedient followers. Jesus said that where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Our giving follows our hearts. Give your heart to Jesus and His global mission and your treasure, time, and talent will follow. Faith Promise Giving is simply a way to glorify God by giving to world missions over and above our tithe through our local church. By doing so, we partner with God and His missionaries in making Jesus known for the joy of all peoples.

Midway Church has a desire to not just reach the world but also your own neighborhood which is why we are encouraging for all believers to have 4,000 Gospel conversations with people you know who don't follow Jesus. When you’ve been transformed by God’s love, you can’t help but want others to experience the same grace and freedom. We want to be a blessing to our surrounding communities by implementing the B.L.E.S.S. approach.
